MODEL KEPEMIPMINAN DI PONDOK PESANTREN SALAF STUDI KASUS PONDOK PESANTREN DARUTTAUHID SEMBIR KALIBAWANG WONOSOBO

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the leadership model at Darut Tauhid Sembir Islamic Boarding School, Wonosobo, focusing on the role and authority of the kiai in decision-making, the division of tasks and working mechanisms of the management, and the alignment between the kiai’s decisions and the cooperation of the management within the framework of salaf values. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and then analyzed descriptively. The results of the study indicate that the kiai holds a central role as the highest authority in the leadership structure of the pesantren, with a foundation of authority based on knowledge, charisma, and structural legitimacy. However, in practice, the leadership is not authoritarian, but rather emphasizes a participatory approach through deliberation and dialogue with the management. The division of tasks among the management is carried out clearly and proportionally, supported by good coordination and a harmonious familial relationship pattern. Furthermore, the alignment between the kiai’s decisions and the cooperation of the management is strengthened through the internalization of the values of sami’na wa atha’na, the exemplary conduct of the kiai, and open communication.
