Abstract

This study is motivated by the increasing mental health challenges faced by students in the digital era, characterized by academic stress, social media pressure, and changes in social interaction patterns that affect psychological well-being. Islamic education is considered to have strategic potential in providing a holistic approach through the integration of spiritual, psychological, and social values to support students’ mental health. This study aims to analyze the transformation of Islamic education in strengthening mental health in the digital era, focusing on the integration of Islamic values, modern psychological approaches, and the utilization of educational technology. The research employed a qualitative method with a library research design, in which data were collected through documentation of various scientific literatures, including journals, books, and relevant academic publications published between 2020 and 2024. The sources of data consisted of literature documents analyzed using content analysis and thematic analysis through the stages of data reduction, categorization, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the transformation of Islamic education in the digital era contributes to strengthening students’ mental health through the internalization of spiritual values, the development of psychological resilience, and the integration of learning technologies oriented toward mental well-being. Furthermore, the synergy between Islamic education and modern psychology produces a more holistic and adaptive mental health model capable of addressing the challenges of the digital age. This study concludes that the transformation of Islamic education plays an important role in the development of holistic mental health-based educational theory and provides practical implications for designing learning strategies that promote students’ psychological well-being in the digital era
