Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the role of leadership in increasing congregational activity, examine the leadership strategies implemented, and determine the influence of leadership on the level of congregational activity at the Selapanan Fatayat Muslimat Ta'lim Assembly in Kuripan Village, Watumalang District, Wonosobo Regency. In this research the author uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. The subjects of this research include the chairman of the ta'lim assembly using interviews as primary data sources, and through documentation and literature as secondary data sources. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis section involves data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions by testing validity using triangulation of sources and methods. There are findings from this research which show that leadership has an important role as a motivator, director, communicator and conflict manager in increasing congregational activity. The leadership strategies implemented include a democratic leadership style, role modeling, persuasive communication, good activity organization, activity innovation, as well as a personal and deliberative approach. This strategy has been proven to be able to provide significant direction to increasing the motivation, participation, loyalty and commitment of the congregation. Therefore, effective leadership is able to create a conducive atmosphere and encourage active involvement of the congregation in the activities of the ta'lim assembly on an ongoing basis.
