PERAN KOMUNIKASI MAHASISWA KEGURUAN DALAM PRAKTIK MICROTEACHING DI UNSIQ WONOSOBO

Abstract

This study examines the role of communication for student teachers in conducting microteaching at UNSIQ Wonosobo. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, utilizing data collection techniques such as interviews and questionnaires. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling, which involved selecting respondents based on specific criteria—namely, those considered to possess understanding and experience in the field. The findings indicate that communication in microteaching encompasses both verbal and nonverbal communication. In the realm of communication, mastery of the subject matter and regular practice serve as key factors supporting the success of microteaching, while a lack of self-confidence emerges as the primary obstacle in its implementation. These two forms of communication are employed simultaneously and complement one another. However, there is a gap in practice: students tend to rely on verbal communication in microteaching and pay less attention to the use of nonverbal communication. Nevertheless, this can be improved through thorough preparation, structured practice, and constructive feedback from the supervising instructor.
